High-Temperature Distillation for Water Purity
The ZanAqua Element™ delivers the "Gold Standard" of water purification – super-heated steam distillation. Our high-temperature,
purification units produce a 7 Log (>99.99999%) reduction of bacteria and endotoxins, and contaminants are effectively removed
from the water during the vaporization and condensation phase changes. The result is bacteria and endotoxin-free, lab-grade water
(Type III purity with <4 µS/cm) . Other purification methods require constant vigilance to verify that filter or membrane integrity are
not compromised.

The Ecology and Efficiency of the ZanAqua's Element™
Reducing your "water footprint" is good for your bottom line.
The ZanAqua element uses very little energy to decontaminate water and has a very high water reclamation rate
(typically 85%) than other methods.
Distillation is a reliable method of purification, but until the introduction of the Element it has required too much energy to be cost
effective. The patented ZanAqua Element™ is the result of a decade of engineering and investment to refine a method of
distillation know as vapor compression distillation (VCD). Our water purification unit uses a single motor to boost the rate of water
treatment, accelerate the vaporization of the water by our patented Rotary Heat Exchanger (RHX), superheat the steam in the
reactor compressor, and force the flow through a series of Counterflow Heat Exchangers to recapture and redirect the energy into
the reactor chamber. In fact, 98% of the heat of vaporization is recaptured and reused. The result is a purification system
producing exceptionally pure water that requires less than 0.045 kWh of energy per gal ($0.004 per gallon).
To further reduce the water footprint, ZanAqua’s Element loses very little water during the purification process. Typically 85% of the
water is returned as purified distillate, as compared to reverse osmosis (RO) process, which typically squanders 50%-80% of the
water. The higher the water reclamation rate, the less waste water must be disposed of in the municipal waste water system, leach
field or be removed by costly tanker trucks. Rather than disposing of process water, you can reuse 85% of it, over and over again.
Compact Purification Units for Adaptability and Expandability:
Laboratories, industrial processes, military situations and residential settings each have unique water purification needs. ZanAqua
designed the compact Element units and the multi-unit Expansion Modules to be able to easily adapt to unique settings and
changing capacity demands. The novel ZanAqua approach permits customization without extensive custom engineering.
Each Element, about the size of a fire hydrant, is capable of producing 25 gallons per hour of distillate, and one Expansion Module
can produce 2,500 gallons per day. Space efficient Expansion Modules can be connected end-to-end, be stacked or distributed
where ever the water needs are greatest or the space is available. Each Expansion Module can host up to 5 Element purification
units, or a custom array of pre- or post-treatment peripherals and purification units. As capacity needs evolve, more ZanAqua
Modules can be put on line, and individual reactors can be serviced without a total disruption of output, as is the case with other
systems.
